What is The Babysitters Club?

The Babysitters Club is a premium babysitting agency, which organises and matches babysitters highly experienced and trustworthy sitters with parents in need of childcare. Booking a pre-screened sitter is a swift and simple action using our website, texting or calling our organisers. We pride ourselves on quality, experience, privacy and trust.

What does it cost to use The Babysitters Club?

The Babysitters Club charges a $10 service fee each time you book your sitter. This covers our expenses and allows us to continue providing the highly trustworthy service we offer. Alongside this, our babysitter’s hourly rates are $22 an hour for 1-2 children no infants. From there, per additional child, infant, child with special requirement or late booking, an additional $3 is added to the hourly rate.These prices are all exclusive of GST.

The hourly rate is reflective of the experience and quality of our sitters.

How Do You Ensure Quality, Trustworthy Sitters?

We recognise that trust is one of the most important aspects to consider when looking after someone else’s children. This is why we have such a vigorous selection process, as we only want the most experienced, reliable and trustworthy people caring for your little ones.

Our selection process is outlined below:

1.   We have each babysitter fill out one of our application letters. This requires them to answer detailed questions about their experience with children.

2.  We police-check each sitter and only allow him or her to work once this police-check has been cleared.

3.  We interview each sitter face-to-face or via skype and ask them detailed questions regarding their experiences and provide babysitting scenario’s for the sitters to answer (this allows us to understand their level of experience and maturity). We verify the sitters experience and work ethic through calling their referee’s. 

What If A Sitter Cancels On Me or Doesn't Show Up?

We hope this never happens, but in the event that a sitter needs to cancel the booking (or doesn’t show up at the scheduled time) then you will receive a full refund. Depending on how much notice the sitter gives, we will do our best to find a replacement sitter. If you have any concerns, contact us on 0273349873.

What If I’m Running Late And Can’t Make It Home By The Expected Finish Time?

No problem, overtime is charged in 30 minute intervals at the same standard rate as the rest of your booking. We do however recommend that you get in touch with your sitter to let them know and make sure that they don’t have another job or appointment that they need to get to. If your plans do change and you need to extend your sitter, we advise speaking to your sitter about this upfront at the time of booking or via our messaging service after the sitter has accepted.

What If I Need To Change Or Cancel My Booking?

If you need to change or cancel your booking, you may do so up to 2 hours before it is scheduled to start, but please note that there may be some penalties for last minute changes or cancellations.

Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for details, however here’s a quick summary:

1.  If you cancel more than 24 hours before the start time of your booking, you will not be charged.

2.  If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start time, you will be charged $30.

3.  Within an hour of the booking start, you will not be able to make changes or cancel. If you really need to cancel at this point, please inform your sitter not to come, however in this case, you will be charged for the total hours booked.

Changes to your booking will need to be accepted or declined by the sitter. If you make a change and the sitter declines it, this will be treated as a cancellation on your part and the above policy will apply.

Who Do I Contact If I Want To Book A Babysitter Again?

If you wish to book a babysitter again, you are more than welcome to request the sitter you had used previously. It is really important that you always contact The Babysitters Club first, and any person that chooses not to abide by our Terms and Conditions will be denied access to our services.
